Oral Language

Just a reminder of what the last 3 week's topics for Wednesday's Oral Language are:

Week 7 - A talent - we would love to see or hear about something you are good at!
Week 8 - An international event - please check it is suitable for children to share with the class.
Week 9 - An Olympic sport – what sport are you excited about watching in this year’s Olympics?  What can you tell us about it?

Maths

For the next couple of week's Rimu will be covering the topic of measurement in maths. The children will need to have their 30 centimetre ruler at school.

Taking Care of Our Tiger Worms

Rooms 15 and 16 enjoyed their visit to the Botanical Gardens to make worm farms. We are now going to make our own worm composting bin at school, but in the meantime it is really important that you look after your tiger worms.

More information on how to make a worm farm will be added to the Blog this week.

Dog Safety

Today we had the City Council talk about dog safety. The instructor Lucy brought her awesome dog Poppy as a demonstration!  Caitlyn, Milan and Olivia from Room 15 and Joe, Alyssa and Marley got to pat Poppy the cute dog! Here are some of our images.

We learnt to ask the owner first before stroking it. We had to pretend to stroke it by making our hand into a rock shape. Lucy told us that the chest is best.

Wacky Mufti Day

Today Rimu used their imaginations and creativity to come to school looking really wacky! We also raised a lot of money for a good cause - the Cancer Research charity.
